Recipe for Stir Fried Orange Pork. It is out of a cook book, Cooking for Two.
- 1-1/2 tbls peanut oil
- 3 tbls matchstick sized pieces orange peel
- 4 dried red chiles or 1/4 tsp crushed red pepper
- 1 garlic clove slivered
- 8 oz center cut boneless pork chops, sliced (1/8 inch)
- 2 c broccoli florets
- 1/2 c reduced sodium chicken broth
- 1/4 c orange juice
- 1 tbls soy sauce
- 1 tbls sugar
- 1 tbls cornstarch
- 1 tbls water
- Heat wok or large skillet over medium heat until hot. Add oil; heat until hot.
- Add orange peel, chiles and garlic. Cook 3 min. stirring frequently.
- Increase heat to high; add pork. Cook 1 - 2 min. or just until pork loses raw pink color.
- Stir in broccoli ; cook 1 min.
- Stir in broth, orange juice soy sauce and sugar; cover and cook 1 min.
- Meanwhile, in a small bowl, whisk together cornstarch and water; stir into sauce. Cook 30-60 seconds more until thickened, stirring constantly.
- Remove and discard chiles before serving.
